Suppliers Actions

1. Collect data on the weight of your products/sub-assemblies for each customer. Communicate this to your customer. You may need to go back to lower levels of the supply-chain for data.

2.

Identify if any components or sub-assemblies require pre-treatment/removal. Communicate this to your customer.

3.

Consider the options to light-weight/simplify product design. Work with your customers on this.

4.

Consider design changes that would necessitate the removal of components that require pre-treatment/removal.

5.

Organise meetings with suppliers to consider design changes that could reduce the components requiring pre-treatment/removal. Consider re-design to make removal cheaper and easier.

6.

If your final customer is using a third-party compliance scheme ascertain the data that they require for reporting to the relevant agencies.

7.

Provide volume and weight data for historic products supplied to past and present customers.

8.

Develop recycling/disassembly guidance materials for use by reprocessors.

9.

Liaise with customers to ensure that their product labelling requirements are met. This is particularly important for suppliers of cases and product enclosures.
